How cheaply they manipulate the public opinion...
"they want to destroy us and harm us... because they hate our values".
(downright we do! as if he has any values!)
It was not enough with Zarkawi's enchanting speech (which was almost cartoonish - I still believe that Bush bought both Bin Laden and Zarkawi in the same media package, and that Al-Qaida is the best PR company a western leader could get), timed after the war on Lebanon started, just to 'put things into perspective'.. because Lieberman DID lose the elections, and people ARE talking about the israeli attrocities... let alone Iraq.. and of course, Gaza. so they needed another reminder of the terrorists, naturally to refresh people's memory about why all these wars are being fought, as it were...
I could picture Hillary calling Bush earlier this week saying "Georgie do something! they might wake up to the truth if we go on like this!"; so of course the best way to do it is to make the general public directly affected... and what's more atrocious than having to 'volunteer' your shampoo and perfume at the security checks in airports.. so the public would eventually feel involved in these wars:
- I had to give away my bulgari perfume bottle at JFK today! and carry my stuff in... a PLASTIC bag! Ah, the horror... but it's for a good cause, of course: we are fighting terrorism, you know!
- oh! darling, they almost wanted to take away my saline implants today.. but I told them terrorist women don't have breasts like us!
I read all the news to yet find anything tangible about this 'conspiracy theory' that took place today.. nothing. only that they arrested 21 people from around the UK (and of course they didn't fail to mention that this is most probably a plot 'a la Osama', and that all the terrorists are British muslims)... now how did all this unravel only today? no one knows or even asks! why did they wait till the same day (the day before they are supposed to vote on a UN resolution to stop the massacres in the middle east - which coincidentally falls a whole month after the war started - as if any UN resolution is of any value untill Israel is good and ready) to stop air traffic and go around arresting people..
They terrorize their own nations... 'into oblivion'; all the same policy since September 11... all the same.
Meanwhile people are still dying in Lebanon, and I still go from paper to paper looking for some hope, contemplating what would be the shock to find someone I know on the news.. among the rubble. (just like I found my friend's family house in the south on Reuters)...
So please, stop this charade, it's become disgusting!

thank you for seeing trough this.
it's outrageous!!
right on! that's exactly what we were talking abt now. i'm starting to believe everything around me is made up, i feel like Mel Gibson in Conspiracy Theory.
my heart sank when i turned on NPR to hear abt lebanon and the manara, and all i heard was shower gel and war on terror. what a charade.
(btw gus implants could be weapons of mass destruction, didn't u hear?)
Gus, I have to admit the timing is peculiar. You are courageous to post that, though. Testing that 1st amendment to the limits, are you?
Thanks for speaking from your heart.
Funny.
Ah u remind me of the Bullet Theory…..!!!
Great post
Hi guys, if we didn't stop this sick conspiracy theory in our method of thinking, we will never be able to see the truth and admit and deal with. We be in the same situation as we are and as we have been for ages without one step forward. We have to see things as they are and not to see things as we imagine. Then and only then we will have the courage to carry our responsiblities and go forward with our countries and nations.
Eyewitness, if I were you I would refrain from labeling someone as sick conspiracy theorist, when all he did is express his opinion... but as it is, this is the easiest way to dismiss others' opinions. in any case, I don't see how we would actually make any progress unless we realize what is being done and said around us, unless we take everything with a grain of salt, and refuse to be laid by the neck like sheep... it is our responsibility to speak up.. only then we would have any semblance of dignity.
i admire your courage...... great post!
Ghassan:
First of all I'm very sorry for the rude expression, I used. But I think it was that I'd some kind of conversation with a friend before I read your post about different issues concerning the same point and it seems I had an accumlative unjustified reaction in my comment. I'd like apology again, I'm awufully sorry.
I also wanted to explain what I meant more simply. All I wanted to say, as long as we loading others for every single suffering we have in our countries, even if they contributed in by a way or another, we will never be able to admit and face our problems and start dealing with it. If we don't admit that one of the mane causes, but not the only cause of terrorism in the world is the continuous speech of hatred for deacades and not only a foriegner trick of fruit, if we didn't admit that our financial crisis is due to the corruption spreading in our countries and not due to foriegn colonization of our countries.......if we didn't stop taking the position of victim and start taking our own responsibilities we will never be able to build out countries and we will never be able to ensure better future for our children. I hope you could get my point.
