And so is life… and time.

He picked up one stone to see what’s under it. He found another stone. Several actually. He removed them to see more. Then more. Then more. And that’s how he started digging a hole.
For years now he has been picking up stones, throwing them away, to see what’s underneath… he doesn’t know that what’s underneath the stones is more stones. He doesn’t know that what he is throwing away is what’s waiting for him once more. He doesn’t know that yes he could find something precious buried deep in the earth, but only rarely, and that earth is earth, and every grain of dirt is as valuable as another, and that he can’t keep on throwing away stones waiting to find a diamond…
And who could help him now find all the stones he’s thrown away…

or he could've thrown a diamond looking for more stones

stones are days we live, not people we find...
although we tend to equate people with days...
but the diamond days are kept,
because they are not forgotten yet :)

He lost those stones, Gus....life just moves on....and now he can either continue throwing more stones awaiting the diamond, or look at the stones, and enjoy its moderate beauty, and maybe make use of them...
Don't we all do that one time or another?
Very nicely written, Gus :)

the fact is that life is all about planning and waiting, and this is the part that we should enjoy and live.

very well-written. i like to think there will always be more stones and hopefully we will not get to the hole (or whole as u put it) soon
c ca, l'air du temps
and the stones can be deeply engraved in your memory

but when he climbs from the hole behind him looms the tremendous mountain that he has built, unwittingly perhaps, the stones that landed together in a great architecture, a diamond collosus of what has been lived... i love how the picture reflects the diversity of textures and shapes of uniqueness, how each day is spectacular in its individuality
